I have a bit of an update on the Street Wolves VTT Foundry Module. It is now exclusively available on the Foundry Marketplace and has been removed from Drive Thru RPG and itch.io.
If you have any questions about this decision, I have some answers for you:
What if I Bought it on Drive Thru RPG or itch.io?
Nothing negative will happen. As a premium module, the Street Wolves VTT Foundry Module has auto updates through Foundry. Your module will continue to be supported through their back end processes.
Why is it Exclusive to foundry marketplace?
The decision to remove the Street Wolves Foundry VTT module came after a bit of internal debate between myself and the cats. It’s due to Foundry’s policies. There’s a pricing scheme for premium Foudry Modules (like Street Wolves) where if you don’t sell enough copies in a quarter, there’s a minimum they charge you. There’s been a few quarters where I’ve had to fork over $50 bucks to them after not selling any copies.
I understand that Foundry modules are a niche product and fully expect not to sell a single copy in a quarter or only a few. But I can’t afford to pay $50 to just have it available.
But anyway, the Marketplace doesn’t carry a minimum fee like having it on Drive Thru RPG and itch.io. And I want the Street Wolves VTT Foundry module to continue to be a premium module, so this is the way to do it.
$50 Is a lot to you?
Yes, actually! You’d be surprised how much Table Cat Games doen’t bring in between conventions and crowdfunding. This is a topic for another time really, but the indie ttrpg scene is very difficult to make money as your average creator, until you hit a certain level.
But also, it’s a little bit of the principle of the thing. I don’t feel great having to pay someone to not make sales. But this again may be a topic for a different post.
Will you keep updating the Street Wolves foundry module?
Yes! I use it a lot. And I find things here and there that either need to be corrected or could be improved upon. So I’ll continue updating as time allows.
